Five lights before lights out

Ignition

An exclusive process that streamlines vehicle modification: planned once, parts ready before the car arrives, and nothing done twice.

Short answer

Ignition is New Speed Automotive's exclusive process for planning and completing a modification or specialty repair. It runs in five stages: vehicle profile, build sheet, parts, build, and shakedown and handover. Each stage is agreed before the next begins, which saves time and money and gets the job right the first lap around.

At a glance

The five lights

  1. 1Profile

Your car, its history and your goal, on record.

  2. 2Build sheet

Scope, order of work and estimate, agreed first.

  3. 3Parts

The right parts, staged before the car arrives.

  4. 4Build

Each job on a service ticket, with updates.

  5. 5Shakedown

Tested, re-checked and handed over with a record.

Lights out, and away you go.

Stage by stage

How a project runs

Each stage is agreed before the next one starts, so you always know where your car is and what comes next.

  1. Light 1

    Profile

    Start profile

Every project starts with a vehicle profile: year, make, model, VIN and mileage, what has already been changed or repaired, how the car is used (daily, shows, track days) and what you want it to do. The profile stays with the car, so the next project starts where the last one finished.

  2. Light 2

    Build sheet

    Consult

The team turns your goal into a build sheet: what gets done, in what order, and how each change affects the others. Lowering a car, for example, also means an alignment and possibly a driver-assist check. Nothing starts until you approve it.

  3. Light 3

    Parts

    Order parts

Parts are matched to the plan and to each other, then ordered and checked in before your car comes in, so it isn't sitting on a lift waiting for a delivery. If you already have parts, bring them up at the build-sheet stage.

  4. Light 4

    Build

    Service ticket

The work runs from service tickets, one per job, so nothing is missed and every step is recorded. If the team finds something unexpected, you get a call before the plan changes.

  5. Light 5

    Shakedown

    Handover

Before handover the car is road tested, fasteners are re-checked, codes are confirmed clear and settings are verified. You get a record of what was done and how to look after it. Then it's lights out.

Why it works

Plan once. Build right.

Most of the time and money lost on modifications goes to doing things twice: parts that don't suit each other, a car waiting on a lift for a delivery, an alignment repeated because the suspension changed a month later. Ignition removes that waste by putting the thinking first.

  • Parts are chosen together, so they work together
  • Parts arrive before the car does
  • Related jobs are done in one visit
  • Every job is on a service ticket, so nothing is missed
  • Your vehicle profile carries over to the next project

Before you call

Have these ready and your profile takes minutes:

  • Year, make and model (the VIN is even better)
  • Mileage and any modifications already done
  • What you want: more performance, a fix, new technology, show prep
  • How the car is used: daily, weekends, shows or track days
  • Your timeline, and any photos or videos of the issue

Questions

Frequently asked

Why does Ignition save time and money?

Because the whole job is planned before any work starts. Parts that need to work together are chosen together, they arrive before the car does, and related jobs are done in one visit. Lowering a car and aligning it once, instead of twice, is a typical example.

Can I bring my own parts?

Usually, yes. Mention them when the build sheet is drawn up. The team will tell you up front if a part doesn't suit the plan or isn't one they will install.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the work and on parts availability. The build sheet includes the expected timeline, and you are called if anything changes it.

What happens to my vehicle profile afterward?

It stays on file with the record of the work, so future projects and maintenance start from what has already been done.

Box, box.
